Clarinet Choir
While composers like Mozart and Stadler wrote early works for clarinet-only ensembles, the first large ensemble containing only members of the clarinet family was begun by Gustave Poncelet at the Brussels Conservatory. His group was heard by great composers, including Richard Strauss in 1896.
