    From the composer:
"Broadly the term duality can be thought of having to do with opposition; the word's applications often describe much more subtle interactions. I am fascinated by seeing balance executed between oppositionally-oriented entities. Reflection and Projection can be viewed as a duality example in the context of looking back versus looking forward. There is also an introvert-extrovert duality inherent in the two terms, and Looking inward versus looking outward. It's a fascinating exercise to imagine other realms where reflection and projection coexist.

Also existing in these words with considerable "then" (past) and "then" (future) energy, is the energy of "now." It requires a lot of "now" energy to stay in the moment when seriously ruminating on some past or some future. "Reflection" and "Projection" are deep studies in "now" playing, juxtaposing static vertical structures in the horizontal environment of time-based art. The members of the Ambassador TrioPatrick Englert, Jack Liang, and Jeremy Ruth, who commissioned Dualitiesare masters of in-the-moment playing, and their high-intensity performances I had seen were models for me as I began to shape Dualities.
