"When I arrived in Sydney from Russia in 1975 with my sister and parents we only took a few belongings with us. Some of those were beautiful hand-embroidered bed linen. They were so precious that we never used them. One day I wanted to have a look at one of those treasures, but found that most of them had developed holes from the invisible moths. To alleviate the pain of losing the family heirloom I decided to write this piece. There are lost of rests (holes) and many staccato notes (moths), especially in the clarinet part." -
