Blush was composed by Jean Ahn in 2010 (revised in 2019), and is dedicated to Wonkak Kim. The composer includes the following program notes:
' "When daisies blush, and windflowers wet with dew…" Ebenezer Elliot (1781-1849)
This piece is based on this image of flowers, shy to express fully with words but cannot help blush. The overall tempo and mood may be freely interpreted by the performer. The use of microtones, grace notes, and glissandi depicts the characteristics of Korean traditional music. '
Range: highest pitch = written G6 (also includes "highest note possible"
Key signature: no ♯/♭
Time signature: 2/4, 3/4, 3/8, 5/8 (time signature & bar lines are merely visual without indicating the traditional stress on the downbeat)

This work was later adapted by the composer for flute and clarinet duet; that version is available here.
