"Die Komposition richtet ihren Blick auf die Polyphonien Guillaume Dufays. Beiläufiges kann motivisch werden, jedes Motiv beiläufig, jede Systematik ist vorübergehend und in jeder Auflösung steckt ein Keim des Fortganges. Immer wieder gibt es annähernd kanonische Gebilde, die jedoch wegen Überlagerungen, Verschiebungen oder zeitlicher Verzerrungen niemals reine Wiederholungen entstehen lassen.So entwickelt sich formal ein imaginärer Dialog. Die Gedanken einander zuspielend, reagiert jedes der beiden Instrumente auf seine eigene Art, einmal konkret, ein anderes Mal assoziativ, und jeweils in seiner ihm eigenen Zeit."
The composition focuses on the polyphonies of Guillaume Dufay. The incidental can become motivic, every motif incidental, every system temporary, and every resolution contains the seed of continuation. Again and again, there are quasi-canonic structures, but due to overlaps, shifts, or temporal distortions, they never result in pure repetitions.
In this way, an imaginary dialogue develops formally. Playing off each other's ideas, each of the two instruments reacts in its own way, sometimes concretely, sometimes associatively, and each in its own time.
