"All Is Waltz pays homage to my native city of Vienna, the city of Viennese Waltz - only, that is in this version almost no 3/4 time signature appears at all and that it cannot easily be danced.But that is just what Vienna is - playful, challenging, ephemeral - and at the same time melancholy, quiet and not unbalancing.
Two bass clarinets are featured that do not only perform the melodic function, but also takeover the role of the soloists."
